The King and Rook checkmate is tricky to learn but easily remembered.
In this checkmate you must choose a place to trap the King against the side of the
board. This checkmate must be executed alongside the side of the board.
Step 1: The Rook must cut off the rank or file
Step 2: You must allow your opponent to place your Kings into opposition.
Step 3: Your Rook if safe will place a check forcing your opponents King in the
direction you have chosen.
Step 4: Repeat these steps until your opponents King is against the side of the board.
Step 5: Once your opponents King is pressed against the side of the board and the
Kings are in opposition, use your Rook to deliver checkmate.
