A Skewer is a reversed pin. A skewer occurs when you move a unit to attack an
enemy unit of more importance that shields an enemy unit of less importance.
Pieces that can skewer:
Rook Skewer
The white rook located on e2 is attacking the black queen on e5 and directly behind
the queen is a rook. The rook is of less importance then the queen. Black does not
want to loose the queen so the queen will be moved to a safe square. Unfortunately
once the queen moves the white rook will capture the black rook located on e8 and
a check to the black king. Thanks to the skewer the game is equal again.
