Stalemate is when you cannot move any piece on the chess board and its your turn. If
you have any piece that can move then its not stalemate.

Stalemate occurs when your opponent is attacking every square around the king and
not delivering a check. If the king is your only piece left and you cannot move to a
square that is not under attack by your opponent you must stay were you are.

Stalemates are counted as ties even though one player might have more pieces. If any
player cannot make a legal move and the king is not in check. It becomes a tie.

If your losing try playing for a stalemate. A tie is better than a lose.

If you checkmating watch out for silly stalemates. In the diagram to the left white
moved king to e6 and that move took away the black kings last flight square. Its
blacks turn and the king cannot move to a free square. = Stalemate.
